Antibiotics vs doTERRA essential oil

Are you on any medication which includes antibiotics? Is it common that you and your child will have to take antibiotic whenever you visit a doctor due to flu?

Image taking your child into the Doctor for a serious bacterial infection like strep or pneumonia, only to be told the bacteria you are trying to fight has developed a resistance to antibiotics.  What would you do?  What options would you have?  This scenario has become a reality for millions of people worldwide.  Antibiotic resistant bacteria, or "Superbugs/supergerm" are on the rise and have now been declared one of the CDC's top public health concerns.

Over the last decade, almost every type of bacteria has become stronger and less responsive to antibiotic treatment.  Antibiotics are destroying the "good bacteria" in your gut allowing the "bad bacteria" to take over and it is the "bad bacteria" that is building resistance every time you use antibiotics.  Lets take a look at the top products adding fuel to the "Superbug" or "Supergerm" fire.

1- Antibiotics- widespread inappropriate use of antibiotics is the number one cause of antibiotic resistant bacteria.  Antibiotics will not kill a viral infection; try telling that to a Mother who has a child with a double ear infection.  Parents are demanding antibiotics even though they are not effective in treating colds, flu, most sore throats, and most ear infections.

2- Acne Medication- whether it is by form of  oral antibiotics or an antibiotic cream, it is adding fuel to the increasing drug-resistant bacteria.

3- Antibacterial soaps and household products- Every day our children are pumping this problem right into their hands.  A link between antibacterial chemicals used in personal cleaning products and bacterial resistance has been shown in vitro studies.

The CDC is estimating that it will take ten years to develop a new antibiotic that would be strong enough to combat antibiotic resistant bacteria. Here is a chart to show you the decline in development of antibiotics.

What shall we do if we want to quit using antibiotic? After months of researching into alternative solutions to help many people to overcome the antibiotic resistant bacterial infection, I found a safe and effective way to assist the body in fighting off "superbugs" or "supergerms" without concern of resistance.

doTERRA's certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils are highly antimicrobial and can be used to assist the body in fighting both bacterial and viral infections.  Essential oils have been used medicinally throughout history with great success.  They are the ONLY form of medicine that has withstood the test of time.  I started using doTERRA essential oils on my daughter and was amazed at the quick results.  These wonderful little oils have now taken over my medicine cabinet and have become our first response to any ailment.  My favorite fact is that every drop of essential oil contains a different amount of compounds making it impossible for bacteria to develop a resistance.

doTERRA has a Family Physician Kit that contains 10 essential oil that no home should be without.  Below is a list of the oils that can be found in this kit along with my Family's favorite application for the oils.

1.  Lavender - It is the most versatile and popular oil. It is great for burns and takes aways pain and blistering fast! It works very well as a sleep aid and it has a very calming effect. It also works as a natural antihistamine and provides relief from insect bites and allergies.  Rub on your feet each night for relaxation, or headache relief.

2.  Lemon - Use a drop of lemon every day in your water to keep your body acid free (alkaline). Lemon helps clean your lymphatic system.  It is excellent for sore throats-- just place a drop on your tongue or gargle with lemon water. You can also use it as a cleaning agent. Lemon oil will clean ninety-nine percent of bacteria.

3.  Peppermint - It has been double-blind studied against Tylenol and was proven to be just as effective in treating tension headaches.  Peppermint Oil has been reported as being one of the most promising treatments for I.B.S.  It is fantastic for digestive issues and when inhaled it will stimulate the brain to increase alertness.

4.  Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) - This is fantastic for acne since most acne medications are antibacterial creams, melaleuca is antibacterial.  It is also great for most skin conditions: general rashes, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, and MRSA.  You can rub it on your head to control dandruff and on your chest for coughs.

5.  Deep Blue  - It reduces inflammations and relieves sore muscles and back aches.  Use this oil on all sport related injuries or chronic inflammation.

6. Oregano - It is your heaviest fighter oil with several studies proving its ability to kill MRSA (staph infection). It is one of the most important oils to use when fighting any infection. It is a very hot oil and must be diluted with any carrier oil (Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil etc) to apply topically. Our natural antibiotic is 4 drops of Oregano, OnGuard, and Lemon placed in an empty gel capsule.  For fast results, take this capsule at least 3 times daily.  Dilute with coconut oil and apply to the feet or spine of younger children.

7. On Guard - This oil helps to strengthen your immune system. The US National Library of  Medicine now shows that OnGuard is effective in destroying the H1N1 virus. It has also been shown to kill 17 different strains of MRSA. This is great for disinfecting via a diffuser.  Place 3 drops under your tongue daily, use 4 drops in a capsule with 4 drops of lemon oil, or rub on your feet every night for cold prevention.

8.  Breathe - Use this oil from respiratory infections, coughs, or asthma symptoms.  Rub it on your chest to help combat congestion.  Rub on chest and under your nostrils to help with snoring.  Unlike other Vapor Rubs, Breathe will actually assist your body in fighting off the infection.

9.  DigestZen - this blend will work for any digestive disorder: Acid Reflux, heartburn, H.Pylori Bacteria, diarrhea, Constipation, IBS, etc. Seventy percent of your immune function is through your GI so if you have a compromised GI you have a compromised immune system. Using DigestZen will help strengthen immune system.  Take 4 drops of Digestzen with 2 drops of peppermint internally in an empty capsule or simply rub it on your stomach.

10. Frankincense - this oil contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier.  It may help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands.  Many people belief it helps with anxiety and depression.  Several studies have been done on Frankincense and its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!  You will be amazed at how fast and effective doTERRA essentials can be.  If you look at where the world is heading with antibiotic resistant bacteria and very few new antibiotics in development, it becomes necessary to have these oils in your medicine cabinet.

Fight MRSA and Super Germs Naturally

Did you know that this hospital acquired infections are the 4th leading cause of death in the U.S. after heart disease, cancer & strokes?

But, these killer infections do not only reside in the hospital! They can be found throughout the community! It gets WORSE: some of these infections are resistant to almost every antibiotic! This is why these bacteria have been given the name SUPER GERMS!

One of the most well-known SUPER GERMS is MRSA (Methicillin-resistant: Staphylococcus aureus). It is resistant to the antibiotics methicillin, amoxicillin, penicillin & oxacillin. It was reported a few years ago by ABC news that MRSA was resistant at the time to 15-30 different antibiotics.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) determined from 1999 to 2000, an estimated 135,969 hospitalizations with a diagnosis of MRSA infection occurred. They also reported that this virulent infection kills approximately 12, 000 each year!

This staph bacteria is not the only one to become resistant to antibiotics. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is now highly resistant to virtually all antibiotics and is causing a 57.1% death rate in pneumonia cases. Even  E.coli has a strain resistant to antibiotics.

Once only found in hospitals, these super germs are found everywhere. Last year there were causes reported in my area of germs being found in gyms, pool areas, and children’s day care. Personally, I have known several people who have contracted MRSA and various forms of antibiotic resistant infections. It has literally taken months for them to get well, and they were lucky, as it can cause death!

Now that antibiotics are widely ineffective how can you protect yourself and your loved one from SUPER GERMS?

Have you ever considered a natural treatment?

I am going to introduce you to Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils that you can use as a Natural Treatment!

Essential oils have been known and used by man for thousands of years, yet it has only been since the 1930s that medical researchers around the world have documented their antimicrobial effects. Today we know that essential oils have tremendous benefits when inhaled, ingested or applied topically.

Researchers have found that essential oils have potent effects against SUPER GERMS!

The French physician Dr. Jean Valnet, author of “The Practice of Aromatherapy”, wrote: “Infectious microbes do not appear to become accustomed to the essential oils as they do the many forms of treatment using antibiotics.”

Due to the complexity of the chemical constituents found in essential oils SUPER GERMS find it difficult to build resistance.

Aromatherapist Jane Buckle noted that while antibiotics are becoming more complex to overcome mutating germs, they are not as complex as essential oils. The oils “have a hundred or more components, so it is arguable that the organism would find it more difficult to become resistant to them.”

There are two studies that have mentioned bacterial non-resistance to the oils. At the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in Kyoto, Japan, researchers studied lemongrass essential oil against the ulcer-causing bacteria H. pylori and wrote: “Resistance to lemongrass did not develop even after 10 sequential passages, whereas resistance to clarithromycin developed under the same conditions.”

Dental researchers who were testing the use of essential oils in toothpaste noted that “there was no evidence of the development of bacterial resistance to the antimicrobial activity of the essential oils or the emergence of opportunistic pathogens.”

ESSENTIAL OILS THAT KILL SUPER GERMS:
Melaleuca (tea tree):
1 study tested Melaleuca against 66 isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, 64 of them methicillin resistant (MRSA). All 66 isolates were susceptible to Melaleuca. Another staph study found that Melaleuca’s antimicrobial action is a result of disrupting the cell membrane structure of bacteria. A British study tested tea-tree oil against the fungi Candida and MRSA, among many other bacteria. The oil was effective against 64 of 90 bacterial isolates.

Geranium:
A test of essential oils against different methicillin-resistant staph bacteria found that a combination of grapefruit seed extract and geranium oil had the greatest antibacterial effect against MRSA, while Geranium and Melaleuca were the most active against methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (Oxford Strain).

Thyme:
Researchers in Korea actually found a germ killing synergy between thyme oil and the antibiotic norfloxacin, particularly against resistant strains S. aureus.

Oregano:
Oregano (which is very powerful) constituents carvacrol and thymol are deadly against MRSA! Both methicillin-sensitive and methicillin-resistant S. aureus are inhibited by these constituents according to an Italian Study. Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center tested Oregano essential oil and monolaurin, a form of fatty acid found in human and coconut milk. They concluded that “origanum and/or monolaurin, alone or combined with antibiotics, might prov useful in the prevention and treatment of several bacterial infections, especially those that are difficult to treat and/or are antibiotic resistant.

Cinnamon Bark & Clove:
Staph infections are responsable for many disease states including toxic shock.Staph bacteria produce dangerous exterotoxins. A study at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh found that cinnamon and clove oils decreased the production of enterotoxin A and enterotoxin B.

Basil:
Bulgarian research found that basil essential oil, at a very low concentrations, has a strong inhibitory effect against multi-drug-resistant isolates of Staphylococcus, enterococcus & Pseudomonas.

Lemon:
The antimicrobial activity of lemon oil was found to be often superior to Melaleuca. An australian study found that Lemon oil has significant antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas, Candida, Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), Aspergillus, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Propionibacterium acnes.

Peppermint & Spearmint:
In a Japanese study, peppermint & spearmint inhibited a wide array of bacteria including ulcer-causing H. pylori, E. coli and salmonella and more importantly, MRSA.

Lavender:
British researchers tested a number of essential oils against two of the most difficult-to-kill bacteria MRSA and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium. While Melaleuca proved to inhibit with the lowest concentration, peppermint, thyme and lavender, were also effective against these SUPER GERMS.

Lemongrass:
Two studies named lemongrass as well as cinnamon, thyme, and peppermint oils as effective against a number of disease-causing bacteria, including MRSA.

Eucalyptus:
UK researchers Dr. Eugene Sherry and P.H. Warnke have used a eucalyptus based product to clear MRSA infections, including a case of MRSA osteomyelitis (bone infection) so severe amputation was thought to be the only solution. The man’s leg was saved!

Helpful hints for fighting SUPER GERMS:
The following are helpful single oils that can be used to aid in fighting SUPER GERMS:
Melaleuca and Geranium: internally encapsulate and take anytime you suspect infection or have an actual infection.

Thyme, Oregano, Basil, Clove, Cinnamon & Eucalyptus: Internally encapsulate and take for powerful antibiotic and antiviral effects. Topically because of their caustic nature you may need to use in conjunction with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil to ease potential skin irritation.

When looking for an essential oil, demand 100% pure therapeutic-grade oils, carefully grown and prepared to deliver the maximum bio-activity, energy and chemical profile of the living plant. These premium and potent oils are more costly than the synthetic and diluted oils used in most store brand cosmetic and health products but remember, for optimal safety, efficacy and result only 100% pure therapeutic-grade oils will do!

dōTERRA Essential oils does not prevent, treat or cure disease. Your lifestyle choices can help prevent disease. Your doctor treats symptoms and fixes broken parts. Your body cure disease!
